In Kenya, secondary school education is a crucial pathway out of poverty — but for many students from Maasai communities, the cost of school fees places this opportunity out of reach. In pastoralist regions like the Mara and Amboseli, only 26% of children who complete primary school transition from primary to secondary school. For girls, this number is even lower, as early marriage and cultural expectations often interrupt their education.

At The Maarifa Foundation, we believe education is a powerful tool for change. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we provide scholarships to cover school fees for students at three partner schools in the Mara and Amboseli. These scholarships not only give students the chance to complete their high school education but also empower them to break cycles of poverty, become community leaders, and advocate for future generations.
